I had some ideas about what to write here, but it seems that they've all escaped me. I guess that's a pretty defining feature of mine: I have a short attention span and while I'm generally filled with ideas, I don't remember them long enough to do anything with them!

There's not a lot I can say about myself. I'm very shy and reserved, but can be really animated and intense in one-on-one situations. I play tabletop roleplaying and wargames. I like to read, and I dabble in creative writing and a little drawing.

I love music. I once decided that there is a lyric quote to suit every situation, and I still find that true. I can't always call the best quote to mind, and there's a whole lot of songs that I don't know, but songs have said everything I could want to say, and usually much better too.

There is always music going on in my head - even if my mental radio is really broken and loops short parts of songs ad infinitum. I always have my iPod on me, but when there's no music available I will sing quietly to myself (or not-so-quietly when I'm alone). I also sing to myself to comfort myself when I'm sad. I sing along with all songs I hear, or mouth along if I'm wearing headphones.

I haven't decided yet what I want to be "when I grow up". I currently dabble in creative writing, and would love to sell some books so I could stay at home all day and do all my favourite things. Not that I ever finish anything that I start, and I'm always dashing off to begin new projects long before the old ones are finished.

I'm a good writer within my field. I write fantasy stories with knights and dragons and elves, and I like to fancy that I'm pretty damn good too. My most current work, and largest project to date stands at over 100,000 words totalling 180 typed pages.

I've never asked anyone what they notice first about me, but the last person who mentioned it commented on the World of Warcraft t-shirt I wore pretty much every Friday. I love t-shirts from the internet, and guess seeing me in person, that would be the first thing you'd notice.

Over the intertubes, I guess it would have to be... I'd like to think that I come across as intelligent and well-spoken.

Food: "tourist" indian and mexican. I love cooking with spices, curry, salsa, beans. I also adore baking, and if I had the time my house would always be filled with cakes, scones, piklets, pies, tarts, and other yummy things that go well with whipped cream.

Music: I have very eclectic tastes. I go through moods, and I can spend 48 hours listening to one song on repeat and then I won't be able to find anything to listen to for a week. VNV Nation and Tycho Brahe are at the top of my "must listen" list at the moment, but here's an A-Z sampler of bands I'm into (okay, I cheated, and most letters have 2 entries):

Movies: Labyrinth is easily my favourite movie of all time, but also on my list are: Unbreakable, Edward Scissorhands, Dark City, Gabriel, Hot Fuzz, Howl's Moving Castle, Zoolander, and Sin City to name but a few.

Books: I love Terry Pratchett and Brian Lumley. I'm not half as well-read as I wish I was, but I need to find the money or a good library before I could even make time for all the books I want to read.

6. Fine Tea and Yummy Food. I love food so much. I think my metabolism could handle what I eat if I didn't eat so much of it. But I long ago made peace with the fact that I'd rather be overweight than live a life on rationed doughnuts. As for tea... I'm not a connoisseur, but I love my tea and I love tea shops. Japanese Cherry: everyone should try it, even if you think you don't like green tea.

5. My Computer/Laptop/PDA. Whatever device I'm using, it has become such an integral part of my favourite hobbies. Whether I'm chatting online, browsing the xkcd forums, writing my [s]next[/s]first best-seller, playing around in Photoshop, reading a novel online, or wasting time with a flash game; it's all good.

4. Books. My favourite form of entertainment since I was a child. I spent so much time sitting in my room reading The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe that I think I completely stunted my ability to get any form of exercise at all!

3. The Internet. Being the thing that connects me to #2 (see below), brings me entertainment, and hundreds of hours of mindless diversions. I think I would go crazy if I were deprived of a net connection. To the point that I take network cables with me whenever I stay away from home so I can use the internet wherever I go.

2. Good Friends. Being with a whole group of people drains my energy, but I happily do it over and over because I do love people. I love to laugh and have a good time with the people I love.

1. My dog. To anyone who's ever tried to love me: I'm sorry but my dog has the first piece of my heart. I love him like my own son, and he just makes my heart melt every single day.

I spend a lot of time day-dreaming. Mostly about what my ideal life would be like: married to Johnny Depp, living off the movie adaptation of my novel, playing my wii, baking, and spending time with my friends or just kicking back with my husband.

On a typical Friday night you can find me at home having a few drinks, watching some movies or listening to some good music. I'm a homebody and I'm never happier than connecting with my few close friends in the comfort of my own home. I can't imagine a better way to spend a Friday night than to have a few friends over to watching some Bond movies and play the drinking game I made up.

I develop crushes very quickly and easily. I feel like my brain has some sort of wiring error that makes me feel emotions five times more intensely than normal people - or at least in a compressed time frame. If I experience an emotion it will be very intense (causing swings that a lot of people can't seem to cope with in me), but I bounce back really fast, and I'm usually over it the next day, or even immediately!

... well, you probably shouldn't. I don't stop by here very often, and I'd rather you not get the impression that I'm ignoring incoming messages, I just don't really get them.
