I am a discriminating but easygoing individual; a wild woman (in the Clarissa Pinkola Estes way, not the red light district way). I am a nurse who still can't figure out how I became one. I am an INFJ. I am an artist and writer. I outline the great American novel and then lose my notes. I paint a masterpiece and the cat lies on it. I want to be recognized as a goddess, though queen of the universe might be acceptable. (Yes, I'm kidding. I can't keep my balance on a pedestal.)

You should probably know that I'm spiritual, but not religious. Most religious labels make me wince. I am a shamanist and an intuitive/energetic healer/reader. I am an animist. Because I believe there is spirit and medicine in everything, I'm an omnivore.

I was reared a Christian (my Dad is a preacher) so I am cool with Church, read the Bible and love Jesus. I've been sprinkled and dunked. When I go, I prefer Unitarianism, but I'm flexible.

I love people because they are interesting; a true student of human nature. My body is a temple and a playground. No littering or vandalism tolerated!

I am often called an earth mother (I look like one). Just remember it's not nice to fool with Mother Nature! Just in case, I am easily appeased with chocolate, shiny trinkets and massages.

I insist my partners meet me eye to eye, and examine their preconceived notions about spirituality and body type. I enjoy intelligent conversation, playful people and I'm a professional snuggler. I give good hugs and have a wicked sense of humor. I'm learning to be more of a wise woman and less of a wise ass!

Following a protracted illness, I lost my husband of ten years in May 2008. We were best friends and I know I'll miss him. The nicest thing about having a long, good relationship is that I am confident in my skin and know I am capable of being a solid partner with a compatible person. That also means I miss "the long conversation", the intimacy of couplehood, but I'm reevaluating life, the universe, and everything. No hurry to find forever, but would like to find people to interface with, and see where that goes.

I have really long hair, and have been thinking of cutting it. I've been "shut in" caregiving family for a long time and I'm looking for friends and activity partners.

I am renovating an old frame house in the Deep South right now, pondering life's options. Ever see "Steel Magnolias"? "The Amazing Secrets of the Ya Ya Sisterhood"? "Fried Green Tomatoes"?

I'm swatting a lot of mosquitoes and looking for the perfect meat pie recipe. Looking for a reasonable handyman. Trying not to become a cat lady (Oops! Too late).

I am creative. This means that I have an awful lot of art and craft supplies laying around.

I'm good at road trips. I bake a mean cookie. I understand I have a relaxing voice. I am also told that I am a good listener.

Those lips, those hips, that Mama Nature hug!

My aura is irresistible, soft, colorful and round. So am I!

People often comment on my laugh and smile. I've been asked if I am always happy. Yes, I pretty well am, or I try to see the bright side.

How about genres, rather than specifics? I enjoy reading romance, mystery, sci fi and fantasy, and also enjoy those things in movies. I love animation and cartoons. I like the occasional psychological thriller. I also like documentaries and history, forensics and archaeology. I'm across the board on music: I prefer oldies, easy listening and the blues, folk/traditional and world music.

I'm also easy to feed, though I tend to be a foodie and smell anything offered to me before I'll taste it.

Bonus points for you if you understand why I harbor a secret desire to run off and join the Dendarii Mercenaries.

My brain is like butterfly ninja. I have been trying not to think so much.

Sitting around painting my fingernails black and weeping into a vintage handkerchief in the dark.

Oh, come on. I'm probably listening to NPR and making dinner, dancing with the chihuahua, or playing on the computer. Unless someone coaxes me out of the house with the promise of good food and/or music.
