Will be suspending this for a while. Not enough time to devote to it and my days are getting shorter. :-)

Here I am... online mostly because my busy schedule doesn't allow for time perusing the country in search of true love's kiss. I'm on here not because I have a hard time finding dates, but because I'm seeking out a man with long-term potentional, someone of substance with sparks and mutual interest. I've been told I'm in search of a fantasy and I will never really discover him. I'm hoping that I can show those skeptics just how possible it really is (maybe write a book about it!).

I recently read an article written by a single mother in her 40s. The article stressed the importance of settling, the younger the better. She stressed that passion was less important in a marriage and that the many single women in the world should be focusing on the qualities in a man that would make him a good husband: interested in being a father, a provider, and a loyal friend. My paraphrasing is lacking all of her supporting details, but hopefully you get the point. I guess the hopeless romantic in me wishes to defy all recommendations set out in that article. I don't plan to be less selective, nor would I wish to spend a lifetime with someone who I have no real, true love for. I'd like to think you can have it all in a relationship: a loving, passionate, intellectual, honest, monogamous, and healthy relationship. So my immediate reaction was to find this site and set up camp. Guess I'm taking a more proactive approach. :-)

I'm a fanatic for good food and never give up the opportunity to try something new. I enjoy a night out on the town with good company. I love exercise by sport (climbing, hiking, etc.), dogs, the sound of night (crickets, coyotes howling... ok, that's a bit much), cuddling, movies, books, my son, long weekends away, like to be surprised, pampered, sleeping in, love to laugh... hmmm....

I don't get spun up in affairs that are not close to my heart. I definitely prefer direct communication in any relationship (personal or professional).

I love to laugh. And, am sick of talking about myself already.

I'm a mother, a full-time employee for a great company, and will be a student in the fall (MBA).

I like the outdoors, shopping, reading, travel, painting, gardening, and much more.

I studied Spanish in college. Doing so allowed me to spend some time in Spain. I definitely need some improvement in speaking the language. :-)

I'm currently reading books on the legalities of online commerce, Dog Training for Dummies, and Heart Shaped Box (Booooo).

I am determined to finish a book even if it's not all that captivating. I like the classics: East of Eden, Zorba the Greek, Lady Chatterly's Lover, etc.

I enjoy the commical books by Christopher Moore... You Suck: A Love Story. And, although my mother tries to push on a bunch of self-help books, I typically don't read them.

My music selection is varied. I often check out cds at the library of artists I've never heard. Blues, rock & roll, folk, alternative, soul, latin, etc.

I don't subscribe to cable or satellite tv... good 'ol bunny ears for me. I do enjoy watching a good movie, though.

My son, family, friends, sleep, mis perritos, water, and food.

The existence of mankind. Oh... and my future....

Art and expression... how to fit in everything I want to do, or have to do.

..how to make my day less average/monotonous.

Either meeting up with friends for a night out on the town or staying home, watching my mini-Indiana Jones swing from a tree or sharing dinner with neighbors.

hmmm... I sometimes talk in my sleep.

I like to play devil's advocate to pull more out of a conversation... doesn't necessarily mean I disagree.

I crave knowledge.

Oh.. and, although my son is a huge part of my life, I do have my own identity. Don't pass me up just because I have a child, you shouldn't dismiss the many possibilities! :-)
