I have no clue what to put here, which is a little strange for me since ever since I was a kid, I have been a prolific writer. Admittedly, it was all fiction, but that is not exactly the appropriate form of expression for this forum. I don't think you folks would appreciate that very much. The truth of it is that I am a fairly simple person, as we hopelessly complex and intricate human beings go. I am generally happy in life. This is mainly because there are many things in this world that make me happy. I wouldn't call myself annoyingly cheerful, just possessing a tendency to be content and willing to look for the silver linings around me. I am not a highly ambitious person, but I think that characteristic is overrated. In my experience, ambitious people are never truly happy. What I want out of life is very simple, and if you want to know my formula, just ask me. :)

I was raised (though not born) in the South, but do not have the accent or attitudes to prove it. People tend to think I am from the West Coast, which is actually where I was born. I have been all over the states in my life, and I am in love with it. Not in a gun-toting, flag-bearing sort of way, but in the way that I feel a deep connection to the landscape, if not always the people, although there are many of them that I do feel connected to. I started backpacking as soon as my legs were sturdy enough and my mom would let my dad take me out on overnight trips. I don't get to do it as much as I would like, but it is still one of my favorite things in the world to do. It would be great to find a hiking partner!

At any rate, I suppose I should say a little something about what I am looking for here. Intelligence is a turn-on, arrogance and refusal to be less-than-brilliant at any given moment are a turn-off. I don't want to be treated like a princess, to be doted upon. I want to be loved and respected, to be wanted but also to be given space when I need it. I want someone who enjoys a really good bad movie, who has good taste, but who is wiling to sacrifice that good taste in the interest of honest enjoyment.

I want friends who don't play games, who will tell it like it is, regardless of the situation, even if the truth hurts. If I had one wish in this world that could be granted, it would be that you could choose any person at any time to ask a question, and to have them speak the truth to you. I want friends with passions, even if they don't know what those passions are for.

I just moved to Albuquerque from Tennessee. I will be attending UNM College of Pharmacy, so will be slaving away in school for four more delightful years. It will be keeping me pretty busy, but I try to make time in my life for relationships, platonic and otherwise. Its awful lonely otherwise.

Cooking (well, pretty good, at least), guessing what you're thinking, knowing what people will like, remembering random details, forgetting important details, studying cram-style, and moving large objects. Oh, and I am practically infallible when it comes to my sense of direction.

The fact that I call to mind a Viking opera singer... I am only slightly kidding. Tall, long blond hair, very pale skin, ahem... buxom. No horned helmet though.

(A) Gonna have to go with authors here. Bill Bryson, Neil Gaiman, China Mieville, Jack Kerouac, Susanna Clark, Storm Constantine, Jacqueline Carey, Annie Proulx, Neal Stephenson, Sherman Alexie, Nick Hornby, Chuck Palahniuk, Cormac McCarthy, David Quammen, Roger Zelazny, Daniel Quinn. But really, I read pretty much anything I can get my hands on.

(B) The Crow, The Departed, The Illusionist, Brotherhood of the Wolf, Batman Begins, Benny & Joon, Donnie Darko, Death to Smoochy, American History X, The Fifth Element, High Fidelity, The Incredibles, Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, The Matrix, The Princess Bride, Serenity, Sin City, 28 Days Later, Young Frankenstein, Stardust, Severence, The Orphanage, Pan's Labyrinth. There are quite a few more as well... I am a movie whore.

(C) There's no way I can really get into this... I am a fan of most genres, classical, alt rock, straight-up rock, folk, and bluegrass come to mind. I also have a thing for film scores. Don't have too much use for rap or most country, though. A few favorites... Bela Fleck, Counting Crows, Jack Johnson, Blue Man Croup, Gin Blossoms, Barenaked Ladies, Cake, Snow Patrol, Coldplay, Everclear.

(D) Indian, sushi, Thai, Ethiopian, and anything with fresh fruits/veggies. And I am a sucker for good wine, chocolate, and cheese.

I can do without most anything, really. But I sure would like to have a book, a friend (at least one, preferably more), my mp3 player, a horse, fresh air, and a beautiful view.

What the Hell I am going to do with my life. But that's everyone, isn't it? Other than that, I spend quite a bit of time fantasizing about having a low-stress job with lots of free time, living in the Southwest, and having horses and cats to keep me company... and perhaps the right person as well?

Completely exhausted from a long week. So usually watching a movie or reading, then hitting the sack rather early.

I have heart-shaped nostrils.
